Kanta Prasad, the owner of Delhi’s famous Baba Ka Dhaba, was admitted to the hospital on Thursday night. According to the police, he had fainted after consuming alcohol and sleeping pills. The statement of his son has been recorded. At present, his treatment is going on at Safdarjung Hospital. In the initial investigation, the police suspected that he had attempted suicide. The matter is under investigation.
In the matter, Badami Devi, wife of Kanta Prasad, says that I do not know anything. I didn’t see what they ate. I was at the dhaba when he fainted. We brought him to the hospital. Even the doctors have not told us anything till now. I don’t know what was going through his mind.
80-year-old Kanta Prasad along with his wife runs a stall called ‘Baba Ka Dhaba’ in Malviya Nagar, South Delhi. Last year, due to Corona, his business was going slow. After this he narrated the sad story to the world in a video. This video became very viral on social media. After this, there was a crowd of customers at his dhaba to eat.
In December last year, 80-year-old Kanta Prasad started a new restaurant in Malviya Nagar, Delhi. He also named it ‘Baba Ka Dhaba’ and it was near his stall. After a few days, he had to close this restaurant.
He had told that the restaurant had to be closed on 15 February. It was costing one lakh rupees to run it and we had to pay 36 thousand rupees to the employees. Its rent was 35 thousand rupees per month. We were losing it, so it was necessary to close it. However, a few days back he had restarted his old dhaba.
