CDS Bipin Rawat death: CDS Bipin Rawat is no more. Indian Air Force has shared this sad news on Twitter. On Wednesday, an army helicopter crashed in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. (CDS) Apart from Bipin Rawat, 13 people including his wife Madhulika Rawat were killed in the accident. According to the information, CDS Bipin Rawat had gone to Wellington with his wife to attend an event. The accident took place in the dense forest of Coonoor.
There is a wave of mourning in the country due to the news of the death of India’s first CDS. Bipin Rawat was appointed CDS on 31 December 2019.
With deep regret, it has now been ascertained that Gen Bipin Rawat, Mrs Madhulika Rawat and 11 other persons on board have died in the unfortunate accident.

Lieutenant General Laxman Singh Rawat’s son Bipin Rawat was born in Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand. His family has been serving the army for generations. Bipin Rawat was a student of St. Edward’s School, Shimla, and the National Defense Academy, Khadkasala. He was commissioned into the 5th Battalion of the 11th Gorkha Rifles from the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun in December 1978, where he received the ‘Sword of Honour’
Bipin Rawat’s wife Madhulika Rawat was associated with Army Welfare. She was also the president of the Army Women’s Welfare Association. Bipin Rawat leaves behind two daughters. Both Girls lose their Mother & Father together.
Before being made CDS, Bipin Rawat was the 27th Chief of the Army Staff. Prior to being made the Army Chief, he was appointed as the Deputy Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army on 1 September 2016.
Bipin Rawat had many years of experience working in counter-terrorist operations. Bipin Rawat also worked in high altitude war areas for many years. He was awarded ‘Param Vishisht Seva Medal’ for his outstanding work. Apart from this, he was also awarded the Uttam Yudh Seva Medal, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal and many more.
