    Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui Movie Review- Ayushmann Khurana is known for choosing films based on the Taboo subjects of Indian Society. Ever since the trailer of Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui was released, fans were excited to know about its plot as the twist was not revealed. With this story, Vaani Kapoor followed the Ayushmann Khurana and choose to play the role of Trans woman. The film shows the ups and downs of Manu (Ayushmann) and Maanvi Brar’s (Vaani) relationship especially when Manu got to know about her past and her surgery.

    Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui is plotted around the surrounding of typical Punjabi city Chandigarh. From its very first scene, it shows the whole story going to be loud and dramatic. The Punjabi accent, scenes and living style depicts in the movie till last.

    The character of Manvinder Munjal aka Manu (Ayushmann) shows as a fitness freak, he runs a gym. He is working hard for an annual local championship which he has been unable to crack so far. The story begins when a Zumba instructor Maanvi Brar (Vaani) is hired to take classes in his gym.

    The buff bodybuilder Manu and Glam Looking Maanvi start falling for each other and soon this turns into a romantic and passionate relationship. But one secret of Mannvi’s past left Manu in a state of deep confusion.

    Abhishek beautifully plotted the story of a Trans woman and shows it on a big screen in a respectful manner. This is something breaking the stereotypes of our society as such topics, relationships, and persons are still not accepted.

    The story tells a lot that what actually happens in real life when people go through such biases in society based on their gender identity. The story is run smoothly for two hours even did not shows any appealing ending or climax but still deliver a beautiful message.

    Like always, Ayushmann played his character with full enthusiasm and got into Manu’s skin a bit too deep. He transformed his body like a gym instructor to play this role. 

    Vaani’s character is truly appealing here, Bold, brave and unapologetic about her past. In the movie, she does not want to change the mindset of society but gives a strong message that trans woman or other genders also exists and nothing to shame on it.

    The chemistry of Ayushmann and Vaani’s is also stunning and the two complement each other in intimate scenes without making it awkward.

    Overall, You may not get lots of goosebumps still Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, engages you till the end to send out a strong message about gender equality.
