Mahendra Singh Dhoni has announced his retirement from international cricket by posting an Instagram post. In his Instagram post, MS Dhoni wrote, ‘Many thanks for the love and support from all of you. After 7.29 pm today, I should be considered retired. Along with this post, Dhoni has also shared a video.
MS Dhoni already took the retirement from the test cricket format. But he was still remaining in One day and T20 format and played 2019 world cup for India.
Dhoni had written a letter of retirement to BCCI President Sourav Ganguly during the day itself. He was the captain of Team India in all three formats of cricket.
After the wait of 28 years, India won the World cup in his captainship in 2011. Dhoni started his career back in 2014 against Bangladesh. He played 90 test matches so far and lead the Indian cricket team in 350 One day and 98 T20 international.
Fans were waiting to watch him in 2020 T20 WorldCup but due to Covid19, it postponed. Maybe Mahi was also waiting to play in the T20 WorldCup and planned his retirement after it. Now conditions are different due to Covid19 pandemic so he has taken the Dicison on the 74th Independence day.
