Notification for Union Civil Service Examination (UPSC) 2021 has been issued. The preliminary examination of the Civil Services Examination 2021 will be held on June 27, UPSC has confirmed. The notification will be available on the official website upsc.gov.in. The examination is conducted by UPSC for selection in three stages in Indian Administrative Services, Indian Police Services and other Civil Services. There is a preliminary written examination and a main examination which further consists of a written examination and an interview.
UPSC Civil Services Exam: Eligibility Criteria
The minimum academic qualification required to appear in this examination is graduation. Candidates who have obtained bachelor’s degree can apply for the exam,
Candidates who are waiting for the final result of graduation can also appear for the exam. These candidates, if declared for taking the main examination, will have to present proof of graduation in the detailed application form.
Regarding MBBS candidates, UPSC states, “Candidates who have not completed their internship till the time of submission of their applications for the final professional MBBS or any other medical examination but Civil Services (Main) Examination, are provisional in the examination. Will be admitted provided they submit a copy of the certificate from the concerned authority along with their application. For the university / institute that they have passed the required final vocational medical examination. ”
The age of the candidate should be between 21-32 years. UPSC provides age relaxation rules as per government guidelines. Candidates belonging to SC or ST category will be given a maximum relaxation of up to 5 years. Candidates belonging to the OBC category will get a maximum age relaxation of 3 years in the upper age limit.
Candidates who have the requisite educational qualification and are within the permissible age limit can appear for UPSC Civil Services Examination only if they have not exhausted the number of attempts allowed for them.
