Rajasthan Royals player Rahul Tewatia on Sunday made his first half-century of the IPL. The 27-year-old player from Faridabad showed strength with the bat in the second match after impressing with bowling in the first match. Tewatia batted fiercely against Punjab at the stadium in Sharjah, raining sixes.
He beat Punjab’s fast bowler Sheldon Cottrell fiercely and scored 30 runs with five sixes in one over. Tewatia, who came out to bat at number four, scored just 17 runs in the first 23 balls. But after that he scored 36 runs in the next eight balls. The player, who came from Delhi to Punjab, hit four consecutive sixes in four balls of the 18th over of Cottrell. At one time it seemed that he would hit six sixes in six balls. But Cottrell bowled the fifth ball off the slow side and survived with a six. However, on his next ball, Tewatia again hit a six. In this way Rahul Tewatia hit five sixes in an over from Cottrell.
Yuvraj Singh, who hit six sixes in six balls after Tewatia’s innings, also responded. Yuvraj thanked him for dropping a ball. Yuvraj tagged Rahul Tewatiya and tweeted, ‘Naa bhai na.
